Operation Kingdom Assignment

Marketing Dynamics founder Andy Valadez, responded to a challenge at his church to do something meaningful outside of the church walls with $100 dollars (inspired by the book series “The Kingdom Assignment“). The rest was a wonderful story of business community generousity and a special night for 7 homeless men of Open Door Mission.

What we did:

  • Rallied several partners to help make this special night possible:  Elite Limousine, O’Rourke’s Steakhouse, and the Houston Aeros.
  • Benefitted Open Door Mission with a way to honor some of their residents with a special night out.
  • Garnered publicity for this incredible evening that made a major market newspaper
  • Attended the First Annual “Well Done Awards” in 2007 in Laguna Beach California to receive an award and more recognition for Open Door Mission (other recipients included American Idol Stars Katherine McPhee and Chris Sligh, Gospel Singer Bebe Winans, Director Billy Zabka (original “Karate Kid” child star), “Pursuit of Happyness” Producer Mark Clayman and Chris Gardner (Mr. Gardner’s true story), and more).
  • Helped start a mentorship program and brought in many business leaders to speak to the homeless men at the shelter
  • Provided for many radio interviews of mission Director Rick Hill to talk about the needs of the Open Door Mission
  • Produced a video message that was presented at church and on-line to talk about the special evening
  • Continued on-going support of the mission’s goals
  • Maintained a warm relationship with the authors of The Kingdom Assignment, which ultimately lead to the creation of “The Well Done Awards” (Andy was flown to Orange County to talk about marketing ideas for The Kingdom Assignment Foundation).
