(Houston, TX)— The Mexican Products Exposition (MexProExpo) is pleased to announce Nellie Gonzalez as the Host MC of the luncheon kicking off the inaugural event. Nellie’s work in the media has led to her producing and creating her own programming in television and development documentaries that have appeared on major networks that include: CBS, NBC, CNN, Telemundo and Discovery. She has several awards to her credit, including a 2008 Lonestar Emmy, three Telly Awards, and a Remi Award at WorldFest Film Festival for her short film, “Ink on Paper.” Other accolades include her 2012 Imagen Award in Beverly Hills, California. She has created, produced and hosted three award-winning and nominated entertainment shows: “Houstonisimo” (CBS), “Inside Mi Casa” (MCB), and “H3 All Access” (NBC).
Nellie’s recent documentary, “An Unreal Dream: The Michael Morton Story,” is based on the true story of a convicted murderer exonerated and proven innocent after spending 25 years in prison. Her credits include co-director, executive producer, narrator and interviewer. She brought in two-time Academy Award nominee Al Reinert to direct. The documentary won the 2013 Audience Award for documentaries at Austin’s SXSW and The Human Rights Film Festival in New York and has been sold to CNN and Discovery. Gonzalez recently created a new series titled “The Real Stories of the Texas Rangers,” hosted by former Chief of the Texas Rangers Hank Whitman and she will co-host the Cold Case segments.
